Jedis Pirates Steampunks and Other Gentle Lunatics

This is Kathy. Kathy is a lot of things: she is a Jedi Knight, she is a pirate, and she is sometimes a Steampunk...

But she is first and foremost in her heart a costumer, a creator of wearable fantasy...she has made some really nice custom stuff for me...like this black Regency inspired cutaway tail coat for one of my Steampunk outfits...

She makes great pirate gear, too...belts and accessories, and custom work, like this Pirate Captain's coat in this photo from Scarborough Renaissance Festival in April 2010...

There's a story behind this next costume...it is a Steampunk Belly Dancer...I found a fabulous vintage-y looking lapis lazuli belly dancer waist belt...I gave it to Kathy on the understanding that she would make a Middle Eastern dance costume that would match the lapis lazuli...

And the legend goes...her character, Lady Hestia Jones, Archaeologist (and great-aunt of Indiana Jones) was captured by renegade Bedouins while on a dig in North Africa...they absconded with her khakis and this is what she was wearing when she managed her thrilling escape from those rascals...

And fortunately, after narrowly diverting disaster and A Fate Worse Than Death, she was happily reunited with her long time colleague and traveling companion Dr Charles Wellington Scott.

Kathy does nice leather and detailed accessory work also...here are some detail shots from a custom made Steampunk Utility Belt...

After five years of doing private custom work and commissions, Kathy is slowly branching out and working on going public with her work. Eventually she hopes to carry a small limited line of fine leather and costume accessory pieces for Jedis and Pirates and Steampunks alike, belts and pouches and specialty pieces for the discriminating geek in all of us.

Here are some photos of her first offering, a Jedi Knight belt and pouches...
